Ideating in the early process of a project solutions requires a method to ‘capture’ the rough idea and be able to successfully share concepts with others. There is the challenge of how rough or how fast should the work product be? The key is to find a way to explore while documenting enough to capture the essence of the solution. I have found sketching to be one of easiest and fastest way to start the process ideas. Today, with larger teams, there are more options to the pencil. In my experience the bulk of process is handled by UX researchers. The research is typically started with a series of sessions to define the parameters of the current state and the next (improved) state. Research also aligns expectations from ‘stakeholders’ in the project.
Understanding how people think, explore and ideate is sometimes more important than a final work. On this page, you can see rough work to see one of the ways Jerry concepts layouts.
